sorry for my hiatus. i returned from london last tuesday evening and then took the train down to dc for the weekend to glam my little cousin up for her homecoming. i'm staying put for a while--i miss that tall boyfriend of mine too much, and that poodle baby--and i love new york in the fall. so, i hope to hold true to my blogging promise this fall.
london was amazing. the weather was great--fall was definitely in the air. i relished sleeping in the cool, crisp air. jul allowed me a quick nap before we skipped off to a fashion week party on regents street where we drank ridiculously cool cocktails overflowing with candy bubbles.
our days were spent exploring jul and romain's neighborhood, revisiting my favorite places, cooking delicious homemade meals and sharing conversation with my best friend and her hubby over
a lot of wine. and watching raunchy late-night british tv. oh, and that outrageously gorgeous baby of their's--she was there, too :)
i didn't lay an eye on big ben, parliament, buckingham palace or the london eye and i definitely didn't see wills and kate, and i was
completely cool with that. the most touristy thing we accomplished was going on a walk (my favorite run when i used to live in london) up the west side of hyde park on embassy row by kensington palace.
on saturday, we took a day trip to visit a good family friend of mine in the countryside in a little village called marlow on the river thames. the fresh air was intoxicating. we stuffed our american faces full of cheese, bread and meat followed by tea, and dessert. i think we should adopt the
dessert and wine are completely acceptable/expected at lunch philosophy that europeans hold. who is with me?
and after all of this, i have no photos. i blame my camera being too bulky and not fitting in my purse. i do, however, have lots of photos of my fabulous faux niece, sienna. i will share more photos later!
thank you to the GB's for such an amazing trip. i think crying on the airplane home justifies a good trip, right?
